Scaling global services and operational infrastructure for the agency network’s next growth chapter.
The Opus Group, a purpose-built network of leading experience agencies, including Opus Agency, MAS, and Verve, announced the appointment of Michael Coppock as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Michael will oversee the company's global shared services and operational infrastructure, partnering closely with leadership teams across the agency network to drive efficiency, consistency, and value creation as The Opus Group continues its international expansion.
Michael will oversee global systems and technology, talent and development, legal, M&A integration, and operational strategy. The strategic appointment reflects The Opus Group’s continued commitment to building a scalable operational backbone to support complex, multi-market programs for world-class brands.
"Michael joins us at a pivotal moment in our growth," said Kim Kopetz, President and CEO of The Opus Group. "As we scale globally, building the operational backbone to support our teams and our clients has become mission-critical. His combination of breadth and depth makes him exactly the leader we need to evolve our infrastructure for the next phase of this journey."
Michael brings over a decade of experience establishing and scaling operations for high-growth global platforms. Most recently, he spent over eight years at Airbnb, culminating as Director of Strategy & Global Operations and Chief of Staff to the Global Operations team. During his tenure, he established the company's initial strategy and business operations function across international markets, upscaled global payments and regulatory operations, incubated the Experiences business, and served as operational strategy lead for Airbnb's cross-functional partnership with the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games. He also spearheaded executive forums that integrated early AI initiatives to streamline support quality and operational speed.
Prior to Airbnb, Michael accumulated extensive experience in both financial and legal services. His background includes driving corporate strategy change initiatives at Charles Schwab, managing product strategy for Wells Fargo Wallet, executing M&A investment banking at Jefferies and Credit Suisse, leading corporate development at M&T Bank, and practicing corporate M&A law at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton and Fried Frank.
"The Opus Group and its agency network have built incredible momentum by putting extraordinary live brand experiences at the center of client success," said Michael. "I am thrilled to join Kim and the entire leadership team to build the connectivity, systems, and operational excellence that will empower our talented global teams to innovate and deliver value at scale."
